Clinical Massage Therapy
Clinical massage therapy means assessment and treatment of soft tissues of the body including, muscles, connective tissues, tendons, ligaments and joints. It is a healthcare option that helps alleviate the discomfort associated with every day and occupational stresses, muscular over-use and many chronic pain conditions.
Our focus is to identify and treat the root cause of your health imbalances (manifesting as pain, discomfort or disease in your body).
Various techniques used in clinical practice may include: Deep tissue, Swedish techniques, rehabilitation exercises, joint mobilizations and acupuncture.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a therapeutic method used to encourage natural healing, reduce or relieve pain and improve function of affected areas of the body. It involves the insertion of very fine needles through the skin and tissue at specific parts of the body.
As a practitioner I am trained in Traditional Chinese Acupuncture and Medical / Neurofunctional Acupuncture and would be applying either method in conjunction with manual therapy to help you achieve your health goals.
Perinatal Care
By definition it means providing care during pregnancy, labour, delivery, postpartum and neonatal periods.
Assisting a pregnant women in various stages of pregnancy, birth and postpartum, through labour support (such as Doula), pre and postpartum manual therapy, rehabilitation exercises and acupuncture.
